Ilulissat, perched beside the Ilulissat Icefjord, is located about 220 miles north of the Arctic Circle. The town has a population of about 5,000 people, making it the third-largest city in Greenland. The Icefjord is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, known for the constant calving of icebergs from Sermeq Kujalleq, one of the fastest-moving glaciers in the world. As we took small boats to explore the nearby glacier, we witnessed icebergs breaking free and floating toward the Atlantic. This UNESCO World Heritage Site has been a center of Inuit culture for thousands of years, and the magnitude of the landscape left us in awe. Later, we enjoyed a BBQ on the ship, surrounded by the pristine, icy environment.
