Bellot Strait is a narrow sea passage that allows a ship to approach Prince William Island from the east; the Franklin Expedition approached it from the icy north--with deadly consequences. We stopped at Fort Ross and waited for the tide. Although there are many islands to the north of Zenith Point, the point is the most northern part of the contiguous North American continent. In the Bellot Strait, we saw polar bears #7, #8 and #9 and a group of muskox.
